About
31 Market Place in Hexham is shut while renovations finish: Visit Hexham lists it as under development and reopening soon. It is an Italian-inspired restaurant at 31 Market Place, NE46 3PB, run by Roger and Magda Davy, who also own The Beaumont Hotel across the square. The food is small plates, pinsa, focaccia sandwiches, lasagne, salads and desserts, with outdoor seating and a dog-friendly policy. It began as a pop-up on 11 July 2024 and reopened as a permanent restaurant in July 2026, quietly on 15 July with the announcement the next day, trading outside only and walk-ins only while the building work carried on. The building itself is Grade II listed, first listed on 2 October 1951 as list entry 1042539, which is part of why the fit-out has taken as long as it has. Older Hexham residents know the address as Bin 21 and before that Grape and Bean. There is no Food Standards Agency hygiene rating recorded for it yet. Check the restaurant's Facebook page for the reopening date before travelling.
